Mauro Icardi has no thoughts of leaving Inter Milan

Mauro Icardi does not plan to leave Inter Milan in the near future, according to his representative.

The Argentine has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United over the past year, but Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda insists that the striker is going nowhere.

She told Argentinian television station Telefe: “We’ve renewed his contract with Inter three times because when other clubs have wanted Icardi, the club have done everything to keep him, naturally by improving the terms of his deal! Our relationship with their board is great, especially on a personal level. For example, when the girls were born, the club gave us a lot of gifts. That aside, Mauro’s very happy and he’s also the captain. It’s not our intention to leave Milan, but of course, if Mauro changes city for work purposes, we’d follow him.”

Last term, the 24-year-old notched 26 goals in 41 outings for the Nerazzurri whilst also providing seven assists. He has started the new campaign in ever better fashion with four goals from the opening two games against Fiorentina and AS Roma. Inter Milan are under pressure to sell one of its star players Ivan Perisic to former coach Jose Mourinho this summer.

Real Madrid want the whole of £78 million for Morata while Internazionale are looking at £50 million for Perisic. United value the Croatian £15 million less while their last offer from Morata was £52 million.

It is public knowledge that Inter are under pressure due to Financial Fair Play rules. This would make United negotiate that the final offer move closer to their end. It takes a certain degree of disappointment to warrant boos from your own fans.

That was what former InterMilan captainAndrea Ranocchia had to deal with at the Riscone di Brunico training ground as the Nerazzuri unveiled their new kit back in the summer of 2016.

Andrea Ranocchia was billed to be the next great Italian defender when Inter Milan scooped him from Genoa in 2010. The Nerazzuri had just clinched the Champions League courtesy of a Mourinho masterminded campaign that saw them beat Louis van Gaal’s Bayern Munich in the final in Madrid

With inter looking to improve the wears of an ageing squad, Ranocchia’s signing was seen as one of many steps to sustaining the legacy of dominating the Serie A while simultaneously pulling their weight in Europe.

Seven years down the drain, Inter are yet to return to the Champions League since 2011,8th in the Serie A with a certain Stefano Vecchi in charge – the 11th time they’ve changed guard in 7 years–while Ranocchia was somewhere in South Norwood, London on Sunday afternoon gifting the very ball he was supposed to protect to Wilfred Zahaas the winger capitalized on the Italian’s miss-kick to open the scoring on route a win 4-0, effectively lifting The Eagles to safety. Inter Milan has taken a bold step after the loss to Fiorentina

Inter Milan has taken a bold step after the loss to Fiorentina and has ordered the players to remain within the premises of the club’s ground for next 7 days so that they can train well and ensure better results in the coming weeks.

It’s not something new in Italian Football. It is known by a specific term ritiro and many clubs have imposed it on their players in the past whenever the performance of the team has been embarrassingly poor.

During ritiro, the players are not allowed to go to their homes after daily training sessions as they normally do, but, they have to spend nights in the club lodge and then indulge into training again the next day.

In the views of the experts, ritiro is not a nice way of treating players at all because they are not kids studying in the 5th or the 6th standard in school. They are adult individuals and are well respected around the world. Continue reading Inter Milan has taken a bold step after the loss to Fiorentina

Mario Balotelli Could Be Back in the Italian National Team Fold

Italy national team coach Giampiero Ventura has opened the possibility of former Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli returning to the national team.

Balotelli was once regarded as the future of the Italian national team. His immense talent made him the perfect replacement for players like Alessandro del Piero. However, his talent has largely been wasted with the striker going from the start prodigy worth more than £ 25 million a decade ago into a free transfer for a French football team. Balotelli’s career has certainly not progressed as everyone hoped when he was making his name at Inter Milan.

Several moves to the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, and AC Milan followed, but Balotelli did not improve his ways. He continued to possess incredible talent but it was not applied on the pitch. This led to the Italian national team completely doing away with Balotelli as an option after the 2014 World Cup. Continue reading Mario Balotelli Could Be Back in the Italian National Team Fold

Stefano Pioli Slams Disgraceful Performance from Inter after Europa League Exit

Inter Milan suffered an exit from the Europa League in the worst possible fashion after a 3-2 defeat against Hapoel Be-erSheva.

The defeat was made even more painful given that the club were leading 2-0 after just 25 minutes on the clock. The defeat means that the club have managed just one win in the last five matches, and results have not even after the arrival of Stefano Pioli. The former Lazio manager was appointed as the replacement for Frank de Boer, who was sacked after less than three months in charge of the club. The recent 3-0 win over Crotone appeared to infuse a lot of confidence into the team.

A 2-2 draw with inform AC Milan in the previous match was also a positive result. Hence, Inter fans were confident game against Hapoel Be-erSheva. The team took the lead through Icardi in the 12th minute and this lead was doubled by Brozović’s goal in the 25th minute.

However, nervousness seemed to creep into the Inter players after witnessing the opposition get one back through Lucio Maranhão in the 58th minute. GoalkeeperHandanovič received a second yellow card and the marching orders in the 68th minute after conceding a penalty.

This led to a turnaround with the home team managing two more goals in the final 20 minutes to secure a 3-2 win.”We stopped playing as a team and were presumptuous. That should never happen and we cannot afford to do that if we want to win games. We had the chance to go 3-0 up and didn’t take it. We must work hard to ensure we don’t keep giving away certain opportunities. We cannot play such a two-faced match. In the first half we did really well, badly in the second. All we needed to do was maintain that attitude,” said the Inter manager.

In their 2-1 loss to Cagliari, Mauro Icardi, who wears the captain band for Inter Milan, unfortunately ended up missing a crucial penalty thus leading to Inter’s outright defeat.

This has further compounded the star playmaker’s woes as he already has some issues with fans of Milan.

The beginning of the season saw Icardi start fantastically, scoring no less than six goals in seven matches for Inter. However, he ended up recently angering Inter fans with some comments in his autobiography, which the fans have refuted to be lies when they issued out a lengthy statement.

As he walked out at the commencement of the match, he was greeted with insulting banners about him and jeers from the fans at the San Siro stadium. This shows that his attempt in a statement earlier on to placate the fans had failed woefully.

Javier Zanetti, the Vice President and legend at Inter, has said he would take actions which could see Icardi being stripped of the captaincy position.

A goal by Joao Mario some 10 minutes after the stroke of halftime gave Inter the lead. Mario had found Ivan Perisic with a pass and raced into the box to receive a return pass. His initial effort got saved by Marco Storari, Cagliari’s goalie but Mario was able to make good use by tapping back the rebound.

The lead hardly lasted long as Federico Melchiorri leveled in the 71st minutes of the game. He also had a hand in the second, which saw his deflected cross turned in by Samir Handanovic, Inter’s goalie.

Following these goals, Melchiorri now has two goals in his only two Serie A matches. This comes on the heels of a few difficult years where hewent through a brain surgery and also returned from a serious knee injury. Cagliari has now moved into seventh spot above Inter.

Arsenal summer target Mauro Icardi continued his fine start to the new season, helping Inter Milan defeat Juventus in an electrifying Serie A derby.

Stephan Lichtsteiner ensured the Serie A defending champions went ahead 21 minutes after the break. Alex Sandro sent a low cross which he converted. The goal forced an immediate response from the host. Icardi equalized just two minutes later, scoring a header from a corner kick.

Croatia international Ivan Perisic came on a substitute but got the equalizer after Icardi did the work. The hosts went wild in jubilation. The joy was cut short when Ever Banega received a second yellow card. The reduction to ten men in the dying minutes put pressure on the team as Juventus tried to find an equalizer. The Juventus team with summer marquee signing Gonzalo Higuain couldn’t get to share points with Inter as the referee blew the final whistle. Higuain came off the bench but could only get one real attempt.

The game was keenly contested with the sides sharing the possession almost 50:50. Inter Milan had more shots but only three were on target. Juventus had two goals on target, but committed more fouls. The victory came at the right time for Inter as there were rumours that the management were having issues with the results under Frank de Boer. De Boer replaced Roberto Mancini this summer, but the poor start threatened his position

Inter were defeated 2-0 by Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the Europa League on home soil. The former Ajax coach had to apologize, claiming that the team “lost their heads.” The win would definitely inject confidence into the team going forward. Inter have now garnered 7 points from the four games played so far. They rise to 6th position, but Juventus remain in second place behind Napoli.
