Barcelona will have to turn to alternatives for Lautaro Martinez, who does not want to leave Inter Milan anytime soon. According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Lautaro Martinez is happy at Inter Milan and wants to become an all-time legend for the Nerazzurri. The 25-year-old Argentine international has thus handed Barcelona and his other suitors a setback in his pursuit. Lautaro Martinez joined Inter Milan from Racing Club in July 2018. And he has gone from strength to strength since then, establishing himself as a pivotal figure for the Serie A giants. At the same time, the player has also become one of the best strikers in Europe.

The 25-year-old has made a decent start to the 2022/23 season, amassing seven goals and three assists in 15 appearances.             LIVERPOOL EYEING LAUTARO MARTINEZ AS ROBERTO FIRMINO REPLACEMENT

According to the Daily Express (h/t Calciomercato), Premier League giants, Liverpool have identified Inter Milan ace, Lautaro Martinez, as a potential replacement for Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian has been one of the key cogs of Jurgen Klopp’s success at Liverpool. He formed a fearsome front three alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah that tore opposition defences to shreds. Mane moved to Bayern Munich earlier this summer, and Firmino might follow him out the door.

The 30-year-old is attracting keen interest from Italian giants Juventus. The Bianconeri are rebuilding after a disappointing 2021/22 campaign and are eyeing a summer move for the Samba star. So far, Liverpool have refused to play ball. But with just a year left on Firmino’s contract at Anfield, it could come down to Juventus making the Reds an offer they cannot refuse. HANDANOVIC PENS ONE-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION

Slovenian shot stopper Samir Handanovic has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension at Inter Milan. The immediate past Italian champions announced the contract extension for their goalkeeper this weekend.

Handanovic, 37, was a free agent this summer after his last Inter Milan contract finished at the end of last season. However, he has decided to extend his stay at the club for one more season until next summer as confirmed by the official statement from Inter Milan. DYBALA, INTER AGREE TERMS – REPORT

Argentine forward Paolo Dybala has agreed terms with Inter Milan according to reports emanating from the Italian media. Dybala is on the verge of leaving Juventus on a free transfer after club officials failed to offer him a new deal. The former Palermo player will leave Juventus at the end of his contract this month.


The specific report from Sky Sports Italia said Dybala has agreed his weekly wages with Inter Milan ahead of a move to the immediate past Italian champions and that the two parties will now decide whether to go ahead with the free transfer. Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan are attracting serious interest in signing two of Lille stars Jonathan David and Zeki Celik. Both David and Zelik are an instrumental part of Lille, having helped the club win only the fourth French championship title in history last season. NEWCASTLE EXPECTED TO RETURN FOR BOTMAN THE SUMMER

English Premier League club Newcastle United are expected to revive their interest in Lille’s Dutch defender Sven Botman this summer, according to multiple reports from various sources. The Tyneside club tried to sign the central defender in the January winter transfer window and made several attempts to get the transfer over the line but it was just not going to happen. Since the takeover of Newcastle, the club have been linked to quite a number of players but a huge factor that sways players away is the fact that they could get relegated this season.

However, despite that, they were able to sign as many as three players in January. INTER MUST DEFEND SERIE A TITLE

Inter Milan legend Javier Zanettihas revealed that the player knows they must defend the Italian Serie A title. Zanetti is the current vice-president at Inter Milan and he made this known in a recent interview with the LegaSerie A channel. The former Inter Milan utility player sat down with the channel to discuss his playing career. The Argentine spent the majority of his career at Inter Milan.

Zanetti sees the club as family after spending 25 years. The Inter Milan executive is delighted that they are playing better football than ever in the bid to successfully defend the title they won last season under former manager, Antonio Conte. He led them to a first league title in over a decade. The last league win was under Jose Mourinho when they won the treble including the Champions League and the Italian Cup in 2010.
