David Neres unaware of the transfer interest from Inter Milan

Brazilian winger David Neres has said that he has no idea regarding the transfer speculation linking him with a move to Inter Milan. The young attacker had a stunning season with Ajax where he contributed 12 goals and 15 assists, while helping the Amsterdam side celebrate their first domestic double since 2001.

As such, he has been widely touted to pursue a bigger challenge elsewhere with Liverpool, Arsenal and Inter among the high-profile clubs linked. When asked about the potential interest from Nerazzurri, the 22-year-old remained relatively unperturbed and stated that his sole focus remains on the Copa America for the moment, he said: “I do not know anything, really. Spallettiinsists the club have yet to cement Champions League football

Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has indicated that the club are not assured of Champions League football yet despite being in the driving seat. The Nerazzurri are currently four points ahead of fifth-placed AC Milan in the standings but Spalletti believes there is still unfinished business to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Speaking to Inter TV, Spalletti said that the club need three points from the remaining two games to assure themselves of a top-four spot but that won’t be easy with tricky games against Napoli and Empoli, he said: “When you say that there are only three points missing, you are saying that there is a lot left. Because we have to win one more match and we have two left, we have a very difficult away match against a Napoli that has been able to fight for the title these past few years, so that is the strength of this team.”
