David Neres unaware of the transfer interest from Inter Milan

Brazilian winger David Neres has said that he has no idea regarding the transfer speculation linking him with a move to Inter Milan. The young attacker had a stunning season with Ajax where he contributed 12 goals and 15 assists, while helping the Amsterdam side celebrate their first domestic double since 2001.

As such, he has been widely touted to pursue a bigger challenge elsewhere with Liverpool, Arsenal and Inter among the high-profile clubs linked. When asked about the potential interest from Nerazzurri, the 22-year-old remained relatively unperturbed and stated that his sole focus remains on the Copa America for the moment, he said: “I do not know anything, really. At the moment I am concentrating only on the Copa America, then I will think about my future.”

Neres has been valued around the £40m range for the summer transfer window and that sum should remain affordable for some of Europe’s elite teams including Inter. Nonetheless, there has been no movement whatsoever from any club for his services, though that could change during the busy phase of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are currently under the management of new boss Antonio Conte and the former Juventus man will be hoping to make marquee signings, who can help the team close the gap on the Serie A holders. Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United has been earmarked as one of the potential options but they are unlikely to get him for anything less than £80m.

According to reports, the Belgian is deemed to have already agreed personal terms with the San Siro giants but the club have yet to accept to United’s transfer demands. The Milan giants are currently said to value Lukaku at around £60m and it remains to be seen whether United are prepared to come down on their asking price for the former Everton man.
