NEWCASTLE EXPECTED TO RETURN FOR BOTMAN THE SUMMER

English Premier League club Newcastle United are expected to revive their interest in Lille’s Dutch defender Sven Botman this summer, according to multiple reports from various sources. The Tyneside club tried to sign the central defender in the January winter transfer window and made several attempts to get the transfer over the line but it was just not going to happen. However, despite that, they were able to sign as many as three players in January. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was able to convince Bruno Guimaraes to sign from French Ligue 1 side Lyon for £40 million and was the third signing of their transfer window after Kieran Tripoier signed from Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid, and Chris Wood from Burnley.

Despite the signings they made, they have continued to be linked with more signings, with speculations suggesting that they have enough funds to continue a major squad overhaul. Sevilla’s Brazilian defender Diego Carlos is said to be on the list of possible arrivals this summer and he could cost the club as much as £37.7 million.

West Ham star Issa Diop is also said to be on Newcastle’s wanted list and were also linked with a move for Italy international striker Andrea Belotti but his club Torino were not interested in listening to offers for their star attacker.

They also tried to sign Jesse Lingard from Manchester and made two attempts but the Old Trafford outfit did not agree to their offer and the English midfirkder remained at Old Trafford instead. Botman is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan.
