Milan Skriniar: Atalanta defeat a slap in the face for Inter Milan

Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar has said that the 4-1 Serie A defeat to Atalanta was a slap in the face for Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri had recently jumped to the second position after bagging seven victories on the bounce but that streak came to an end over the weekend where they were thoroughly beaten on the road to Atalanta.

Speaking after the game, Skriniar highlighted that the Nerazzurri experienced a ‘dark day’ after they struggled to reap rewards from the recent run of good form. Nevertheless, the versatile defender took the defeat as a positive and believes such a result would keep the players on their toes for the matches ahead.

Luciano Spalletti Warns Inter Milan of Complacency Ahead of SPAL Match

Luciano Spalletti has warned his Inter Milan players about potential complacency when they take on SPAL this weekend. After an inconsistent start to the campaign, Inter Milan are starting to go on a winning run that has seen them signify consecutive wins since the last international break. Inter are now going for a sixth consecutive win in all competitions when they travel to the Stadio Paolo Mazza this weekend. A crucial element that would help Inter Milan in this game would be the form of players like Icardi, who had a difficult start to the season but is now back in the goals.

Even then, there could be potential complacency from Inter Milan ahead of taking on a team expected to fight against relegation this season. SPAL have had some decent results at the Stadio Paolo Mazza so far this season and Luciano Spalletti is worried that his players may become complacent given the vast differences between the two clubs in terms of league table. So far, inter have come close to dropping points against the likes of Cagliari while they have also lost against the likes of Sassuolo and Parma. Such results are more than sufficient to warn the team about complacency, according to Luciano Spalletti. The 59-year-old has been at Inter for just over a year.

Erik Lamela sticks up for Harry Kane after Inter Milan defeat

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela has spoken in the defence of teammate Harry Kane after he went without a goal for the third game on the bounce. Speaking after the Champions League defeat to Inter Milan, Lamela defended the form of teammate Kane by stressing that the marksman could not be relied to score in every game. He added that everyone within the attacking department has the task of finding the net, provided they are offered the opportunity to get onto the playing field.

Inter Milan Is Ready To Make A Move For Arturo Vidal

For the summer’s better part, Arturo Vidal has been associated with a return to Serie A, because Inter Milan has been on the hunt of the midfielder in the team for about months now. After making the move from Juventus, Vidal has spent three seasons with Bayern Munich. He moved to Juventus in 2015 summer, but the increasingly packed midfield of Bayern could eventually prompt the Chilean to return to Italy.

Per Football Italia and Corriere dello Sport in Italy, the sporting director of Inter Milan, Piero Ausilio was seen in Munich, possibly to negotiate a deal for Vidal with his representatives of Bayern. According to the information, Inter could to offer nearly €23m and €24m for the midfielder, on the other hand, Bayern does not seem interested in entertaining anyone offering below €30m. So, if this goes, then order to meet the asking price of Bayern, Inter would have to sell it could of players from their present team, and at the top of the list, Matias Vecino or Roberto Gagliardini are there. Both have been linked heavily with other clubs and if sold, they would provide enough funds to cover the difference in the Vidal fee.

Marco Parolo: Inter Milan Clash Could Decide Champions League Race

Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo believes the club’s Champions League prospect could be decided against Inter Milan in the final league game of the Serie A campaign. Simone Inzaghi’s side played out a credible 0-0 draw against AS Roma in the Rome derby on Sunday, and this sees them occupy the third and fourth positions respectively with a one-point lead over Inter Milan.

Speaking after the game, Parolo was delighted with the result on the night after they had to withstand plenty of pressure from the opposition. Most notably Edin Dzeko and Bruno Peres hit the woodwork for their cross-town rivals, who had the advantage of playing with an extra man for the final 10 minutes of the derby. Milan Skriniar Convinced Of Playing Champions League Football With Inter Milan

Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar is convinced he will play Champions League football with Inter Milan, and won’t seek an exit, should they fail to qualify for next season’s competition. The 23-year-old has been a revelation for the San Siro outfit since his arrival from Sampdoria last summer, and his performances at the heart of the defence have attracted interest from Spanish giants Barcelona.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the centre-back stressed that he is content with his stay with the Catalan club, and he is prepared to stick with the San Siro outfit for the long-term, he said: “When I came here, it was said that my price was exaggerated. Now I see it even higher. I’ve heard the talk, I read about Barcelona and other clubs, but I’m only focused on my upcoming commitments: I have to think about games and training. Nothing else matters. Certainly my stay at Inter isn’t linked to whether we qualify for the Champions League, although I’m convinced we’ll reach it regardless because Inter have quality men and professionals. I love this shirt and feel very good in Milan: I said ‘yes’ without hesitation when Spalletti and Ausilio asked me to pick Inter.”
